You need a WD TV Live with firmware 1.05.18 or later
or a WD TV Live Hub with firmware 3.01.19 or later.

You must have an iPhone, iPod touch®, or iPad® running iOS 4.0 or higher, or an Android device with OS 2.1 or higher.

Your mobile device must be connected to the same wireless network as your WD TV Live or WD TV Live Hub (Your media player may be connected to your network via Ethernet port or wirelessly).

Windows 8 Play To and WD TV media players make it easy to stream your favorite movies, music, videos and photos stored on your PC to any TV in your house. Don't limit your media experience to a small computer screen. With the Windows 8 Play To feature and WD TV media players, you can enjoy your media library on the biggest screen in your house.

Plug it in.

Connect your WD TV Live or WD TV Live Hub to any TV in your home.

Connect to your home network.

Once connected to your TV, connect your WD TV media player to your home network. Connect wirelessly with your WD TV Live or connect your WD TV Live Hub using the Ethernet port.

Play to your TV.

On your Windows 8 PC or Tablet
Select the music, video or photo that you want to stream to your TV. While the media file is playing, tap the Devices Charm on the right of the screen and select the WD TV media player that you would like to stream to.

From your Windows 8 Desktop
Select the media file(s) you want to stream to your TV. Right-click the selected file(s), point to Play To and select the WD TV media player that you would like to stream to. In the Play To dialog box, use the playback controls to play, pause or stop the media stream, and to change to the next or previous item in the list.
